I created this magazine in DDSN 301 in the 2025 spring semester. The assignment was to design a magazine with multiple pages that explored a topic related to a social cause. I had given a lot of thought on how to approach this and decided to create a magazine related to spreading awareness of mental health challenges with “yamikawaii” fashion originating from Japan.

Process:

After pitching my idea to the class, I sketched out my ideas for the individual pages on grid paper and worked through multiple versions on the computers in class and at home.

Tools:

I used Adobe Indesign to create the piece and Pinterest/Google for inspiration.

Challenges:

The limitations I faced was that I wasn’t an expert with Adobe Indesign yet, so I couldn’t work as efficiently as I would’ve liked since I was still learning how to use the software.
